One of the best parts of working for a company that specializes in all things YouTube is the awesome videos we come across every day. Silly cat videos, pranks, interviews with famous artists – we’ve seen it all. But sometimes, we’ll run into a video that really stands out. A video that’s absolutely hilarious, incredibly touching, or just informative about something we’d never thought about. This is our video pick of the week!
We came across this video after looking through several YouTube News channels and had to stop and watch. Fourteen-year-old Michigan wrestler Hunter Gandee carried his little brother Braden, who has cerebral palsy, on his back for 40 miles to raise awareness for the disease.
There are so many awesome things about this story; I’m not quite sure where to begin. The distance alone would make most people exhausted just to think about, let alone walking it while carrying another person on your back. It took the duo 30 hours to complete the trek – that’s 30 hours of work, sweat, and heat, but never giving up. And the most surprising fact of all? He’s FOURTEEN. A teenager carrying his brother 40 miles? That’s absolutely incredible.
Congratulations and thank you for sharing your amazing story, Hunter and Braden. Not only did you demonstrate your love and commitment to each other as brothers, but you have inspired each of us to work harder and remember what matters most. We hope that we can all join together to find a cure for cerebral palsy.
